Ingredients
  • 1 lb Calamari Rings (cleaned and cut into 1/2 inch rings)
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 large Eggs
  • 1 cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup Italian Seasoned Breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Smoked Paprika
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper
  • Cooking Spray
  • Marinara Sauce, for serving
  • Lemon Wedges, for serving
Instructions
  • Pat the calamari rings very dry with paper towels. This is important for getting them crispy.
  • Set up a breading station with three shallow bowls. In the first bowl, place the flour. In the second bowl, beat the eggs. In the third bowl, combine the panko breadcrumbs, italian seasoned breadcrumbs, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  • Working in small batches, dredge the calamari rings in flour, shaking off the excess. Dip them in the beaten eggs, then press them firmly into the breadcrumb mixture, coating all sides evenly.
  • Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C) for 3 minutes. Spray the basket with cooking spray.
  • Arrange the breaded calamari in a single layer in the basket without overcrowding. Spray the tops generously with cooking spray.
  • Air fry at 400°F for 6 to 8 minutes, shaking the basket gently halfway through, until the calamari is golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve immediately with marinara sauce and lemon wedges on the side.
