These air fryer ham and cheese croissants are one of my favorite quick meals to make. They come out golden, flaky, and filled with melty cheese and savory ham.
The whole thing takes about 15 minutes from start to finish. You really don’t need any cooking skills to pull these off.

They work great for breakfast, lunch, or even a quick snack when you want something warm and satisfying without a lot of effort.
The air fryer gives them a nice crispy outside while keeping the inside soft and gooey. Honestly, they come out better than I expected the first time I made them.
You only need a handful of simple ingredients to make these, and most of them you probably already have at home.
Why You’ll Love This Recipe
Ready in Under 15 Minutes – From start to finish these croissants take about 12 minutes which makes them perfect for busy mornings.

Only 6 Ingredients – You need just a handful of simple grocery store staples to make these golden flaky croissants.
The Air Fryer Gets Them Extra Flaky – The hot circulating air crisps up the crescent dough way better than a regular oven ever could.
Ingredients
- 1 can (8 oz) Refrigerated Crescent Roll Dough
- 8 slices Deli Ham
- 4 slices Swiss Cheese
- 2 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 1 large Egg, beaten (for egg wash)
- 1 tsp Sesame Seeds
- Cooking Spray
How To Make
Step 1
Unroll the crescent roll dough and separate it into the 8 individual triangles along the perforated lines.
Step 2
Spread a thin layer of dijon mustard on each triangle. Place a slice of deli ham on each one, folding it to fit. Cut each slice of swiss cheese in half and place one piece on top of the ham.
Step 3
Starting from the wide end of the triangle, roll each one up tightly toward the point. Curve the ends slightly inward to form a crescent shape. Brush the tops with beaten egg wash and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
Step 4
Preheat the air fryer to 325°F (163°C) for 2 minutes. Spray the basket lightly with cooking spray.
Step 5
Place the croissants in the basket seam-side down with space between each one. Air fry at 325°F for 8 to 10 minutes until the dough is puffed, golden brown, and flaky, and the cheese inside is melted.
Step 6
Remove from the air fryer and let cool for 2 minutes before serving. These are best eaten warm when the cheese is gooey and stretchy.

Tips
Keep the Dough Cold Until You Use It
Take the crescent roll dough out of the fridge right when you’re ready to work with it. If the dough gets warm before you roll it up, it becomes sticky and soft, which makes it really hard to shape into croissants.
Warm dough also won’t puff up as nicely in the air fryer. You want it firm and easy to handle so each croissant holds its shape while cooking.
Go Easy on the Mustard
You only need a very thin layer of Dijon on each triangle. If you spread too much, the dough gets wet and won’t seal properly when you roll it up. That means your croissants can unravel in the air fryer.

Use the back of a spoon or a small brush to spread just enough to barely cover the surface. You’ll still get plenty of flavor from a thin coat since Dijon is strong.
Roll Them Up Tight
When you roll the dough from the wide end to the point, keep it snug and tight the whole way. If the roll is loose, the layers will separate during cooking and the ham and cheese can slide out.
Once you reach the tip, press it gently into the dough so it sticks. Then tuck the point underneath so it’s trapped between the croissant and the air fryer basket. That way it won’t pop open while cooking.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can I use puff pastry instead of crescent roll dough?
You can, but puff pastry behaves differently in the air fryer. It puffs up a lot more and needs a slightly lower temperature so it doesn’t brown too fast on the outside while staying raw inside.
If you go with puff pastry, try cutting it into triangles roughly the same size as crescent roll triangles, and check on them a couple minutes earlier since they can go from golden to burnt pretty quickly in the air fryer.
